Uses of 2H-Pyran,2-(2-chloroethoxy)tetrahydro-: it can be used to produce 2-methoxy-tetrahydro-pyran and 2-chloro-ethanol. This reaction will need reagent of methanol and catalytic agent of DOWEX 50 W-X2 cation exchange resin. The reaction time is 80 minutes with reaction temperature of 40 °C. The yield is about 99%.

2H-Pyran,2-(2-chloroethoxy)tetrahydro- can be used to produce 2-methoxy-tetrahydro-pyran and 2-chloro-ethanol.
