The yield is 89%. 3-Ethylquinoline can also be produced by the reaction of Aniline and 2-Ethyl-propenal . In this process, 70 percent aq. H₂SO₄ is used as the reagent using the catalyst of NaI at the temperature of 110 ℃. The reaction time is about 0.5 hour. The yield is about 73%.
