Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by Pyridazine. This reaction will need reagent FeSO₄•7H₂O, and solvent H₂SO₄. The reaction time is 1 hour with reaction temperature of 15 °C. The yield is about 60%.

Uses of Pyridazine, 3-methyl-: it can be used to produce 2-(Pyridazin-3-yl)indane-1,3-dione. It will need reagent 50% NaH and solvent 1,2-Dimethoxy-ethane with reaction time of 12 hours. This reaction will need heating. The yield is about 70%.
