Borax, with the CAS NO.1303-96-4, also known as sodium borate, sodium tetraborate, or disodium tetraborate, is an important boron compound, a mineral, and a salt of boric acid. Powdered borax is white, consisting of soft colorless crystals that dissolve easily in water.
Preparetion of Borax: Borax is a product of evaporation from shallow lakes. It can also be produced synthetically from other boron compounds.
Uses of Borax : It is used in antiseptics and medicines, as a flux in smelting, soldering, and welding operations; as a deoxidizer in nonferrous metals; as a neutron absorber for atomic energy shields; in rocket fuels; and as extremely hard, abrasive boron carbide (harder than corundum).
When you are using this chemical, please be cautious about it as the following:
1. Do not breathe dust;
2. Avoid contact with skin and eyes;
3. Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves;
