Collagens polypeptide Specification

The systematic name of Collagen is Collagen. With the CAS registry number 9007-34-5, it is also named as Glyceryl collagenate. The product's categories are Peptide; Collagen Cell Signaling Enzymes; ECM Proteins Cytoskeleton and Extracellular Matrix; Extracellular Matrix; Extracellular Matrix Peptides and Proteins; Matrix Metalloproteinases Products; 2D Stem Cell Expansion; Attachment Factors Proteins and Derivatives; Collagen Stem Cell Differentiation; 2D; Adhesion / Attachment / Matrix Factors etc., and the other registry numbers are 157970-72-4; 55963-88-7; 92113-30-9; 93685-58-6. Besides, it is yellowish lyophilized flakes, which should be stored in closed, cool and dry place at 2-8 °C. It is the main component of connective tissue, and is the most abundant protein in mammals.

Preparation of Collagen: this chemical can be prepared by the materials of cowhells and bovine tendons. You can use the solutions of Disodium hydrogen phosphate and KCl to extract. Then you will get this chemical after wash, dehydrate and dry the residue.

Uses of Collagen: it has great tensile strength, and is the main component of fascia, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, bone and skin. In muscle tissue it serves as a major component of endomysium. Along with soft keratin, it is responsible for skin strength and elasticity, and its degradation leads to wrinkles that accompany ageing. Moreover, it can strengthen blood vessels and plays a role in tissue development. It is also used in cosmetic surgery and burns surgery. Furthermore, if collagen is sufficiently denatured, e.g. by heating, it can be used to produce gelatin which is used in many foods, including flavored gelatin desserts. This chemical is also frequently used in scientific research applications for cell culture, studying cell behavior and cellular interactions with the extracellular environment.
