Flavianic acid Uses

Flavianic acid (CAS NO.483-84-1) is used as intermediates in organic synthesis, organic alkali precipitation agent and amino acid reagents. The product reacts with more than 50 kinds of metal ions, but only in acidic solution with the zirconium, lead precipitated for determination of zirconium with the selectivity and high sensitivity.

Flavianic acid Production

Flavianic acid (CAS NO.483-84-1) can be derived from by the sulfonation and nitration of α-Naphthol. Adding 200g25% fuming sulfuric acid slowly into 50g α-naphthol, with stirring to be dissolved , reaction at 125 ℃ for 1h. After reaction is completed, cooling, mixed with 500g ice , filtered. In the filtrate ,add 120g the relative density of 1.40 of concentrated nitric acid , heating 1.5h at 50 ℃.Set reactants at room temperature for 12h, filtered, recrystallized with dilute hydrochloric acid, drying ,that was the Flavianic acid (CAS NO.483-84-1).
