Uses of Hexane,1-bromo-5-methyl-: It can react with 3-fluoro-dodec-1-yne to produce 9-fluoro-2-methyl-octadec-7-yne. This reaction will need reagent BuLi, and the menstruum hexamethylphosphoric acid triamide and tetrahydrofuran. The reaction temperature is -50°C, and the yield is about 79%.
