Preparation: this chemical is prepared by reaction of Chloro-dimethyl-silane with Isobutylaluminium-dichlorid. The yield is about 50 %.

Uses: it is used to produce other chemicals. For example, it is used to produce Isobutyl-dimethyl-p-tolyloxy-silane. The reaction needs reagent Imidazole and solvent Acetonitrile. The yield is about 76 %.
