Lead(II) sulfide Specification

The Lead(II) sulfide, with the cas registry number 1314-87-0, has the IUPAC name of sulfanylidenelead. This is a kind of black powder, or silvery metallic crystals and is stable chemically but incompatible with oxidizing agents, acids, water.  Besides, its product categories are various, including Inorganics; Chalcogenides; Materials Science; Metal and Ceramic Science. This product could be produced according to the following equation: Pb 2+ + H2S → PbS + 2 H+.  Recently lead sulfide has been used due to scarcity of antimony; galena is the principal ore of lead sulfide. Black kohl stone and red-brown kohl stone are widely used in eye cosmetics in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

The characteristics of Lead(II) sulfide are as follows:
(1)#H bond acceptors: 0; (2)#H bond donors: 0; (3)#Freely Rotating Bonds: 0; (4)Polar Surface Area: 32.09; (5)Exact Mass: 239.948707; (6)MonoIsotopic Mass: 239.948707; (7)Topological Polar Surface Area: 32.1; (8)Heavy Atom Count: 2; (9)Complexity: 2; (10)Covalently-Bonded Unit Count: 1.

Uses of Lead(II) sulfide:
When you are using this chemical, you should be very cautious. For one thing, it is toxic which may at low levels cause damage to health. If by inhalation and if swallowed, it will be dangerous and it also has the danger of cumulative effects. Besides, it may cause harm to the unborn child and may have possible risk of impaired fertility. For another thing, it is dangerous for the environment which may present an immediate or delayed danger to one or more components of the environment. Being very toxic to aquatic organisms, it may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.
