Vapour Pressure of Liquefied petroleum gas (CAS NO.68476-85-7): 1920 mmHg at 25 °C
Liquefied petroleum gas (CAS NO.68476-85-7) can be used as a vehicle fuel,a cooking fuel, and refrigerant. It is used for domestic and industrial heating, flame weeding, tobacco curing, grain drying, and in motor vehicles, as well as for the petrochemical industry.
Liquefied petroleum gas is synthesised by refining petroleum or 'wet' natural gas, and is usually derived from fossil fuel sources, being manufactured during the refining of crude oil, or extracted from oil or gas streams as they emerge from the ground.
Reported in EPA TSCA Inventory.
Olefinic impurities may lend a narcotic effect or it may act as a simple asphyxiant. A very dangerous fire hazard when exposed to heat or flame. Can react with oxidizing materials. To fight fire, use CO2, dry chemical, water spray. Used as a fuel refrigerant, propellant, and raw material in chemical synthesis.

Liquefied petroleum gas (CAS NO.68476-85-7), its Synonyms are Burshane ; Fuels, liquefied petroleum gas ; LPG ; LPG (liquefied petroleum gases) ; Petroleum gas liquefied ; Pyrofax ; Petroleum gas (liquefied) ; Petroleum gases, liquefied ; Petroleum products, gases, liquefied . It is mixture of butane, isobutane, propane, propylene, butylenes and other hydrocarbons of low molecular weight that is refined from petroleum. Maintained as a liquid under pressure. Leaking vessels can release either the liquid, which quickly vaporizes, or the gaseous mixture. The gas is heavier than air-- a flame can flash back to the source of the leak very easily. Under prolonged exposure to heat the containers may rupture violently and rocket. Used as a fuel, an aerosol propellant, in cigarette lighters, and to make other chemicals.
