Nicotine Monosalicylate Specification

Nicotine Monosalicylate (CAS NO.29790-52-1) is a white crystalline solid. It is combustible. And, it is toxic by inhalation (dust, etc.) and may be toxic by skin absorption. It can produces toxic oxides of nitrogen during combustion. It is soluble in water. It produced from tobacco. Colorless, oily liquid, combustible, highly toxic. When heated to decomposition, it emits very toxic fumes of carbon monoxide and oxides of nitrogen [Lewis, 3rd ed., 1993, p. 919]. You need to avoid any skin contact. Effects of contact or inhalation may be delayed. Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Runoff from fire control or dilution water may be corrosive and/or toxic and cause pollution. It is non-combustible, substance itself does not burn but may decompose upon heating to produce corrosive and/or toxic fumes. Containers may explode when heated. Runoff may pollute waterways.
