 Octyl Formate (112-32-3) is a fruit with a sweet aroma colorless liquid. In acidic and alkaline media are not very stable. It soluble in ethanol, propylene glycol, the majority of non-volatile oil and mineral oil, a few do not dissolve in water and glycerin.

Spices. Octyl Formate (112-32-3) is mainly used for the preparation of peach, apricot, citrus and assorted fruit flavor.

By the esterification of n-octanol and formic acid formed.
Chlorine by-octyl amine with formaldehyde in the presence of a small amount of azeotropic hydrochloric acid derived.
