Preparation of Oxamide: this chemical can be prepared by formamide. This reaction needs reagent di-tert-butylhyponitrite at temperature of 80 °C. The reaction time is 1 hour. The yield is 53 %.

Uses of Oxamide: it is used to produce other chemicals. For example, it can react with 6-Chloroquinoline-5,8-dione hydrochloride to get 2,2'-Bis(oxazolo[5,4-g]quinoline)-4,4',9,9'-tetrone. The reaction occurs with solvents ethane-1,2-diol, ethanol and other condition of heating for 15 hours. The yield is 50 %.

Oxamide can react with 6-Chloroquinoline-5,8-dione hydrochloride to get 2,2'-Bis(oxazolo[5,4-g]quinoline)-4,4',9,9'-tetrone.
