Oxtriphylline Safety Profile

Poison by ingestion, intravenous, intraperitoneal, and intramuscular routes. Human systemic effects by ingestion: changes in potassium, changes in urine composition, hyperglycemia, metabolic acidosis, nausea or vomiting, tremors, and excitement. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx and NH3. See also THEOPHYLLINE and CHOLINE.
