Ramipril,also named 2S,3aS,6aS)-1((S)-N-((S)-1-Carboxy-3-phenylpropyl)alanyl)octahydrocyclopenta(b)pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid, 1-ethyl ester; Altace, is a prodrug and is converted to the active metabolite ramiprilat by liver esterase enzymes.Ramiprilat is mostly excreted by the kidneys. The half-life of ramiprilat is variable (3-16 hours), is prolonged by heart failure, kidney failure and liver failure.It's white solid.
