Production method of this chemical: The Silane, dichloroethylmethyl- could be obtained by the reactants of trichloro-methyl-silane and ethylmagnesium bromide. The yield is 44 %.

Uses of this chemical: The Silane, dichloroethylmethyl- could react with 3,5-di-tert-butyl-benzene-1,2-diol, and obtain the 3,5-di-tert-butylcatecholane of methylethylsilicon. This reaction needs the reagent of Et3N, and the solvent of diethyl ether. The yield is 67 %. In addition, this reaction should be taken for 1 hour at the temperature of 40 °C.
