Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by isobutylmagnesium bromide. This reaction will need reagent Cl3SiH and solvent diethyl ether, heptane. The reaction time is 24 hours by heating. The yield is about 72%.

Uses of Silane,tris(2-methylpropyl)-: it can be used to produce triisobutyl-silanol at temperature of 80 °C. This reaction will need reagent air, water, [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2 and solvent acetonitrile with reaction time of 4 hours. The yield is about 85%.
