  Strontium sulfide with cas registry number of 1314-96-1 is grey powder giving a hydrogen sulphide-like smell in the air, known as HSDB 12 ; Strontium monosulfide ; Strontium sulphide ; Strontium sulfide (SrS) . It is used as an additive in fireworks because it creates a bright red flame when burnt. It is also a phosphor used in depilatories and luminous paints.
