Details:

Magnolia bark is used internally in the treatment of abdominal distension, loss of appetite, gastro-enteritis, vomiting, diarrhoea, asthma and coughs with acute phlegm. The bark and flower buds of Magnolia officinalis have been used to treat coughs and colds and intestinal problems. Magnolia bark is highly aromatic and contains magnolol and honokiol, two polyphenolic compounds that have demonstrated both anti-anxiety and anti-angiogenic properties. It has also been shown to reduce allergic and asthmatic reactions. Today, the bulk of bark used for commercial and domestic use is supplied by plants in cultivation. Specification: 90% total phenols HPLC Characteristic: Off-white powder Source: bark of Magnolia officinalis Rehd. et Wils. Application: Numerous animal studies have demonstrated honokiol to act as an anti-stress agent at lower doses. Honokiol was found to be five times stronger than diazepam in reducing anxiety without the side effects of diazepam. Magnolol, a compound isolated from the cortex of Magnolia officinalis, has been found to possess anti-allergic and anti-asthmatic activity. Magnolol was found in studies to support the body's natural production of adrenal steroids (corticosteroids) which suppress inflammation.
