Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is a non-ionic cellulose ether obtained from refined cotton through processes such as alkalization, etherification, neutralization, and washing.

Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose has good dispersion, emulsification, thickening, bonding, water retention, and adhesive retention properties.

It is soluble in water and can also be dissolved in less than 70% ethanol and acetone.

Coatings formulated with various viscosities of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose exhibit good wear resistance, high temperature resistance, bacterial degradation resistance, washing resistance, and acid-base stability.

They can be used as thickeners for paint removers containing methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, ethylene glycol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, or diketone alcohol. Apply it to an upright surface with the required viscosity and volatility. This paint remover can remove most conventional spray paint, varnish, enamel, as well as certain epoxy esters, epoxy amides, catalyzed epoxy amines, acrylic esters, etc. Many coatings can peel off in just a few seconds, while others take 10-15 minutes or longer. This paint remover is particularly suitable for wooden surfaces.
