Three new chiral managanese(III) porphyrins bearing chloro and glucosyl substituents have been used as catalysts for enantiomeric epoxidation of 4-Chlorostyrene (cas 1073-67-2) in the presence of diluted hydrogen peroxide as oxygen donor. With such complexes enantiomeric excesses (22%) are obtained, in the presence of 4-tert-butylpyridine or 2-methylimidazole with a very low destruction of the catalysts (ca. 5%) after 4 h of epoxidation.
