(2) m-bromoanisole can got from the reaction between the 3-Bromophenol and Dimethyl sulfate. Firstly, dissolve the m-bromoanisole in the NaOH solution, then add the Dimethyl sulfate in with the stirring. After 1h, Cooling stratified colorless oily matter and with ether extraction, dey it and remove the residue and oily matter to get the 3-Bromoanisole. The yield of this reaction is 90%.
(3) Comprising methoxydenitrating 3-bromonitrobenzene in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst (PTC), and the preparation of 3-bromonirtobenzene by the bromination of nitrobenzene with bromine in oleum. You can also get the 3-bromoanisole.
