1. What is posaconazole（Noxafil）？

Posaconazole (CAS No. 171228-49-2) is a triazole antifungal drug and it is used to prevent fungal infections in people with weak immune systems resulting from chemotherapy or stem cell transplantation. Noxafil Oral Suspension is a white, cherry-flavored immediate-release suspension containing 40 mg of posaconazole per mL and the following inactive ingredients: polysorbate 80, simethicone, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate dihydrate, citric acid monohydrate, glycerin, xanthan gum, liquid glucose, titanium dioxide, artificial cherry flavor, and purified water.

2. Posaconazole dose

Take Noxafil exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. Before you take it, please make sure the correct posaconazole dose. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

Indication	Dose and Duration of Therapy
Prophylaxis of Invasive Fungal Infections	200 mg (5 mL) three times a day. The duration of therapy is based on recovery from neutropenia orimmunosuppression.
Oropharyngeal Candidiasis	Loading dose of 100 mg (2.5 mL) twice a day on the first day,then 100 mg (2.5 mL) once a day for 13 days.
Oropharyngeal Candidiasis Refractory to itraconazole and/or fluconazole	400 mg (10 mL) twice a day. Duration of therapy should be based on the severity of the patient's underlying disease and clinical response.

3. Other mportant information about Noxafil

Take Noxafil for the entire length of time prescribed by your doctor. Your symptoms may get better before the infection is completely treated. Noxafil will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu. Call your doctor if you have ongoing vomiting or diarrhea. Noxafil may not work as well while during this time.
