The IUPAC name of Benzenemethanol,4-amino- is (4-aminophenyl)methanol. Preparation of Benzenemethanol,4-amino-: It can be obtained by (4-nitro-phenyl)-methanol. This reaction needs reagent Ba(BH2S3)2 and solvent tetrahydrofuran by heating. The reaction time is 1.75 hours. The yield is 85%. 

Uses of Benzenemethanol,4-amino-: It reacts 6-chloro-1H-pyrimidine-2,4-dione to get 6-(4-hydroxymethyl-phenylamino)-1H-pyrimidine-2,4-dione. This reaction needs reagent bis-(2-methoxy-ethyl) ether by heating. The yield is 75%.
