Product categories of Demox (CAS NO.8065-48-3): Acaricides;Insecticides;Metabolites;Pesticides & Metabolites
Structure of Demox (CAS NO.8065-48-3):
Demox (CAS NO.8065-48-3) is mainly used to control cotton and fruit trees piercing-sucking mouthparts aphids and spider mite pests, or coated stem for controlling sorghum aphids. Efficacy can be maintained generally 2-4 weeks. EC 150-200 times of coated stem can prevent high-dyed aphids. EC 10-20 times of dressing the trunk can prevent citrus aphid, rust tick, scale insects.
Demox (CAS NO.8065-48-3) is derived by the reaction of Hydroxy-B sulfide with Thiophosphoryl chloride.

EPA Genetic Toxicology Program. EPA Extremely Hazardous Substances List.
A deadly human poison by ingestion. Poison experimentally by ingestion, inhalation, skin contact, intramuscular, intravenous, subcutaneous, and intraperitoneal routes. An experimental teratogen. Human mutation data reported. An insecticide that inhibits cholinesterase in humans and animals and thus causes the buildup of acetylcholine. Doses are cumulative. If illness occurs, it is acute in nature, whether caused by a single large dose or by repeated exposure. Persons poisoned with demeton may be expected to show the following symptoms: headache, giddiness, blurred vision, weakness, nausea, diarrhea, and discomfort in the chest. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of POx and SOx. See also PARATHION and DEMETON; DEMETON-O-METHYL; DEMETON-O-METHYL SULFOXIDE; DEMETON-S; DEMETON-S-METHYL; DEMETON-S-METHYL-SULPHONE.
Hazard Codes: T+N
Risk Statements: 27/28-50
R27:Very toxic in contact with skin.
R28:Very toxic if swallowed.
R50:Very toxic to aquatic organisms.
Safety Statements: 28-36/37-45-61
S28:After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap-suds.
S36/37:Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves.
S45:In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label whenever possible.)
S61:Avoid release to the environment. Refer to special instructions / safety data sheets.
OSHA PEL: TWA 0.1 mg/m3 (skin)
ACGIH TLV: TWA 0.05 ppm (skin)(sensitizer); Not Classifiable as a Human Carcinogen
DFG MAK: 0.01 ppm (0.11 mg/m3)
For occupational chemical analysis use NIOSH: Demeton, 5514.
Demox ,its cas register number is 8065-48-3. It also can be called Demeton ; Phosphorothioic acid, O,O-diethyl O-(2-(ethylthio)ethyl) ester, mixt. with O,O-diethyl S-(2-(ethylthio)ethyl) phosphorothioate ; Demeton Systox and Systox . It may release sulfur oxides and phosphoric acid. Solvent carrier vapors may travel on ground to ignition source. Avoid mixtures with water or polar solvents, in which sulfur is lost to oxygen, air and light, which cause hydrolysis, alkaline mixtures and oxidizing agents. It is readily absorbed through the skinand is extremely toxic.
