It is a Water-white to pale yellow, mobile, oily, liquid with characteristic, mild petroleum odour.And it is a complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained from a petroleum stock by treating with hydrogen to convert organic sulfur to hydrogen sulfide which is removed. It consists of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C9 through C16 and boiling in the range of approximately 150.degree.C to 290.degree.C The most important use of Kerosine, hydrodesulfurized is in blending aviation fuels. It is also used as domestic and industrial heating fuels and as solvents in the formulation of a wide range of products including cleaning compositions, insecticides, antifoams and mould release agents.
