Product Description

Chymotrypsin ( EC 3.4.21.1 , chymotrypsins A and B, alpha- chymar ophth avazyme chymar chymotest enzeon quimar quimotrase , alpha- chymar , alpha-chymotrypsin A, alpha-chymotrypsin) is a digestive enzyme component of pancreatic juice acting in the duodenum , where it performs proteolysis, the breakdown of proteins and polypeptides.

The peptide chain of the protein macromolecule can be cleaved to become a peptide having a smaller molecular weight or act on a peptide chain end of the protein molecule to separate the amino acid, and some lipids can be hydrolyzed.

Function

In vivo, chymotrypsin is a proteolytic enzyme (serine protease) acting in the digestive systems of many organisms. The main substrates of chymotrypsin are peptide bonds in which the amino acid N-terminal to the bond is a tryptophan, tyrosine, phenylalanine, or leucine. Like many proteases, chymotrypsin also hydrolyzes amide bonds in vitro, a virtue that enabled the use of substrate analogs such as N-acetyl-L-phenylalanine p-nitrophenyl amide for enzyme assays.

Both chymotrypsin and trypsin are potent proteolytic enzymes with only differences in hydrolysis sites. Snake venom neurotoxicity contains basic amino acids, which are easily decomposed into non-toxic proteins by chymotrypsin and trypsin, thereby blocking the poisoning of toxins into the bloodstream. Chymotrypsin is superior to trypsin in the treatment of subfamily snakes, and the combination of the two enzyme preparations is better.

Application

Medical uses: chymotrypsin is widely used, and can be used for the treatment of sprains, otitis media, rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, and lung abscess. It can be used for surgical inflammation, trauma, hematoma, and abscess, as well as for tracheotomy. Chymotrypsin works well for patients with sputum, making sputum easy to rule out.Chymotrypsin also promotes the penetration of antibiotics and chemotherapeutic drugs into the lesions.

1). For ophthalmology to relax the ciliary ligament, reduce traumatic iridocyclitis; also can be used for cataract extraction, making the crystal easy to remove.
2). For wound healing or post-operative wound healing, anti-inflammatory and prevent local edema, hemorrhage, sprained hematoma, edema after breast surgery, otitis media, rhinitis.
3). For the treatment of chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis or lung abscess, both purulent and non-purulent sputum can be liquefied and easy to cough up.
4). Treatment of snake bites

For biochemical research: structural analysis, decomposition, and digestion of proteins and for proteolysis in the absence of exogenous trypsin activity, As a reagent.
