Ceftezole(26973-24-0) is a medical intermediate to make ceftezole sodium. The other name of ceftezole is 6r,7r)-8-oxo-7-[(1h-tetrazol-1-ylacetyl)amino]-3-[(1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-ylthio)methyl]-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid. The formula is C13H12N8O4S3, the molecular weight is 440.48. And the density of ceftezole is 2.09 g/cm3, the melting point is 155 °C (dec.). It is a white  powder. The refractive_index is  2.003.

 

2. Use of ceftezole

 

The use of ceftezole is widely. Ceftezole is a new cephalosporin derivative, compared with cefazolin, cephaloridine, and cephalothin. Data obtained indicate that it is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, with almost identical antimicrobial activity against pathogenic organisms isolated from patients. The therapeutic effect of ceftezole on experimental infections in mice was similar to that of cefazolin and was superior to that of cephalothin. Furthermore, ceftezole was as effective as cefazolin in the treatment of experimental abscesses in mice caused by subcutaneous inoculation with S. aureus.
