1,4-Cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid can be used to produce trans-cyclohexane-dicarboxylic acid-(1.4)-dichloride by heating. It will need reagent SOCl2 and solvent 1,2-dichloro-ethane with the reaction time of 30 min. The yield is about 96%.
