Uses of Diethylmethylsilane: It can react with vinylbenzene to produce diethyl-methyl-phenethyl-silane. This reaction will need reagent B(C₆F₅)₃, and the menstruum hexamethylphosphoric acid triamide. The reaction time is 6 hours with temperature of 70°C, and the yield is about 100%.
