1. Omeprazole Injection
Omeprazole Injection solution must not be added to an infusion solution. After preparation the Omeprazole Injection injection must be administered slowly with a maximum speed of 2 ml/minute (over a period of at least 5 minutes, or 2.5 minutes when half of the reconstituted solution is given). After reconstitution, the preparation should be used within 4 hours and any unused portion should be discarded. Omeprazole Injection is compounded with the antibiotic drug amoxicillin in the one week eradication triple therapy for helicobacter pylori. Infection by helicobacter pylori is the causal factor in the majority of digestion and duodenal ulcers.

Omeprazole tablet is a substituted benzimidazole derivative which acts on the final step of gastiric acid production and therefore controls acid secretion in response to all varieties of stimuli, omerprazole has prolonged action in a dose of 20-40mg once a day and reduces the 24 hours gastric acid output by almost 90%. However Omeprazole tablet is not for long-term use, unless otherwise directed by your health care provider. Generic omeprazole tablets are not yet available.
