Preparation of Cerium(4+) tetrahydroxide: Boiling the solution of Ce4+ with NaOH to obtain granular products. Adding NaOH or NH3 · H2O solution to get gelatinous precipitate of CeO2·xH2O (x = 0.5~2), then it is dried to get the product. 

Uses of Cerium(4+) tetrahydroxide: This chemical can be used as bleaching agent and clarifier of glass, ball agent of ductile iron, raw material for smelting silicon alloy and additive in electroplating technology. It is used in preparation of automobile exhaust catalyst and PVC stabilizer. Besides, it also can be used in the synthesis of naphthalene acid cerium.
