An efficient and straightforward one-pot strategy for the synthesis of 4,5-dihydropyrazole derivatives from ketones, arylacetylenes, and hydrazines in the presence of KOtBu/DMSO is described. This strategy provides a flexible and rapid route to polysubstituted 4,5-dihydropyrazoles.
A study on intramolecular photo-cyclization reactions with diazo-functionalized olefin-esters is presented. On irradiation of diphenyl diazo methane esters of cinnamic acids, not only the expected addition to the CC double bond is observed, yielding cyclopropanes, but also the addition to the ca...
The synthesis and characterization of novel sulfur-containing terpyridine ligands and their ruthenium and rhodium complexes [Ru(tpy)2](PF6)2, [Rh(tpy)2](PF6)3, [Ru(phen)(tpy)Cl](PF6), [Rh(phen)(tpy)](PF6)2 (phen = phenanthroline; tpy = S-[4-(2,2:6′,2″-terpyridin-4′-yl)phenoxy]butyl ethanethio...
The synthesis of 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HCFC-1233xf) from 1,1,2,3-tetrachloropropene was performed over a series of Y2O3-Cr2O3(F) catalysts and the effect of yttrium-doping on the performance of Cr2O3 catalysts was investigated. Various characterization results showed that the addition...
Gas-phase fluorination of 1,1,2,3-tetrachloropropene to 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HCFO-1233xf) was investigated over the fluorinated Cr2O3 catalysts with and without promoters. The reaction conditions showed significantly effects on product distribution including temperature, molar ratio ...
We report the synthesis and a study of the gelation properties of a series of N-protected long-chain amino acids. Especially, benzyl and tert-butyl carbamate derivatives of 11-aminoundecanoic acid in their deprotonated form can gelate polar organic solvents and water at very low concentration (l...
A new layered organic–inorganic nanohybrid material in which an agrochemical, 4-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)butyrate (DPBA) is intercalated into inorganic interlayers of zinc layered hydroxide (ZLH) was synthesized by direct reaction of aqueous DPBA solution with zinc oxide. The resulting nanohybrid i...
Direct reaction of ZnO with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (24D) solutions of different concentrations allows obtaining new organic–inorganic nanohybrid materials formed by intercalation of 24D into interlayers of zinc layered hydroxide (ZLH). XRD patterns show a progressive evolution of the st...
The use of high-throughput synthesis and screening techniques is demonstrated with the optimization of and the search for new antimony-rich mixed-metal oxide catalysts for the selective oxidation of isobutane to methacrolein. Three 207-member catalyst libraries have been prepared via a sol-gel s...
The title complex cation, [Sb(tbpc)(OH)2]+ (where tbpc denotes tetra(tert-butyl)phthalocyaninate, C48H48N82-), has been prepared by oxidizing [Sb(tbpc)]I3 with tert-butyl perbenzoate in CH2Cl2, CHCl3, o-dichlorobenzene and also without solvent in the range of 20–80 °C. This species has been is...
Core-shell particles were formed from aqueous solutions of antimonic and silicic acids. Three methods were developed for preparing the particles: (i) mixing freshly prepared antimonic and silicic acids (A); (ii) mixing potassium salts of antimonic and silicic acids followed by protonation by ion...
Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-b-Poly(2-isopropyl-2-oxazoline) diblock copolymers have been synthesized via a facile thiol-ene click approach between reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerized PNIPAM and cationic ring-opening polymerized PiPOx homopolymers. Based on tempera...
Poly(2-isopropyl-2-oxazoline) (PIPOX) is a thermo-responsive polymer exhibiting lower critical solution behaviour in water close to the human body temperature. PIPOX chains form crystalline nanoribbons in aqueous solutions above the critical temperature (Tc). Chain conformations in water prior t...
Poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) (PEOX), a biocompatible polymer considered as pseudopolypeptide, was introduced as a potential alternative to the commonly used polymer, poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) for the preparation of solid dispersion with a poorly soluble drug. Glipizide (GPZ), a Biopharmaceutical...
Poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) thin coatings were deposited on different substrates by means of low pressure plasma polymerization. The stability of the thin films was evaluated by immersion in different aqueous environments (Phosphate Buffer Saline (PBS) at 37 °C, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) solut...
Cancer is one of the major world public health problems and the currently available treatments are nonspecific and ineffective. This reality highlights the importance of developing novel therapeutic approaches. In this field, multifunctional nanomedicines have the potential to revolutionize the ...
A series of poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline)-poly(L-lactide) (PEOz-PLA) diblock copolymers were synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of l-lactide using a monohydroxy terminated PEOz-OH macro-initiator in the presence of stannous octoate as catalyst. The resulting diblock copolymers were character...
Carbopol® 971 and poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) form hydrogen-bonded interpolymer complexes in aqueous solutions and their complexation is strongly dependent on solution pH. This work investigated the complexation between these polymers in aqueous solutions. The compositions of interpolymer complexe...
Recently, poly(2-oxazoline)s have regained significant interest and research has especially been focusing on biomedical applications. As non-woven nanofibrous mats show appealing features in this respect, the potential and limitations of electrospinning aqueous solutions of poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazol...
SN-38 is the active metabolite of irinotecan, an FDA-approved chemotherapeutic agent indicated for colorectal carcinoma, which would not be clinically applicable due to its very poorly soluble and hydrolytic degradation properties. To overcome these limitations, it was proposed to conjugate SN38...
